Join us Tuesday, December 11, 2018 for a screening of Breaking Point: The United States and Mexico at the Ballot Box and the release of our book Disrupting Democracy Volume II: Election Series.
The film Breaking Point: The United States and Mexico at the Ballot Box will take you inside the successful campaign of Andres Manuel Lopez Obrador and the exciting fight for West Virginia’s 3rd district. There will be a discussion to follow on the topics covered in the book and the film featuring Major (Ret.) Richard Ojeda, 2020 U.S. presidential candidate.
Disrupting Democracy Volume II: Election Series takes an in-depth look at four elections in 2018 (Mexico, Latvia, Italy, and the U.S.) and what they mean for the state of democracy in North America and Europe. Why did Mexicans reject the political establishment, and finally give Lopez Obrador a chance? Why does the party that keeps winning Latvian elections never govern? How did technology, political frustrations, and the convergence of global events lead to an Italian election result that seemed inevitable and surprising at the same time? And how did Democrats cut through the noise to regain a foothold in American politics?
The film screening and book release will take place on Tuesday, December 11th, 2018 at 6:30 p.m., with doors opening at 6:00 p.m.
E Street Cinema 555 11th St NW Washington, DC 20004
