Stronger Than Hate: A story of resilience and humanity in a violent world

The Bertelsmann Foundation and Strong Cities Network are proud to release Stronger Than Hate, an animated story of resilience and humanity in the aftermath of the 2018 Tree of Life Synagogue shooting in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.

Narrated by former Pittsburgh mayor William Peduto, this animation intimately recounts the horrific events that transpired that day, and illustrates how a city came together to emerge more united than ever. Although this particular episode is set in Pittsburgh, it is a story that should resonate around the world, as all cities face the ongoing threat of violence, terrorism and other mass casualty events.

Stronger Than Hate will premiere today at the Strong Cities Network Transatlantic Mayoral Dialogue on Preventing Hate, Extremism and Polarization, and Safeguarding Local Democracy.
